On the 08/11/12 I got a letter from Newport Town council saying I was one of the winners in Christmas card competition for the Christmas light switch on. For doing it I get to go to The Guildhall and there I’ll get my prize of Newport town mayor. After that I will walk down with the parade to St.Nicholas’s church for the ceremony then it will all finish of with the switch on.
My card will also be on display in the guildhall window

Year 5/6 have finished their maths project of data handling with a cake stall to raise money for our sponsored friend in Kenya. The children are hoping to raise enough profit to send Elishama a Moorfield t shirt for Christmas. As part of the business initiative they have to pay school back for the outlay of cakes, biscuits and decorating materials. I wonder how much profit the children will make?
Yesterday we went to Lilleshall to interview Daniel Purvis and Kristian Thomas. The two gymnasts are now international superstars after wining Bronze medals at the recent London Olympics. We asked them both how life had changed since the games and they reported that they were now stopped frequently for autographs and recognised in the street. They also told us that they keep their medals in very safe places. We discovered the Daniel started gymnastics when he was just 5 years old and Kristen when he was seven. The gruelling 5 hours a day training programme sounded very tough and they both had to follow a strict diet. It was amazing to meet them both and was a day I will never forget.
