Our After School Forest School club is very popular with the children. Here are some of the activities they got up to this week:
Month: May 2023
Year One visit to Fordhall Farm
Reception visit to Stafford Castle
Our Reception class had a lovely visit to Stafford Castle yesterday – here are a few photos showing you the different experiences that the children had.
Another fabulous performance from our musicians here at Moorfield. Showcasing our talent in piano, recorder, flute and drums.
Well done everyone!
Stars of the Week
Paramedics visit to Moorfield
When an ambulance turned up at school yesterday, we were all a little bit worried. However, we needn’t have been because Mrs Branch arranged it as part of “People who help us”. We have added some photos so you can see how much the children enjoyed the ambulance visit.
Thank you to Mr Kincaid for joining us!
Guinness World Record Attempt
In fitness this term, the children are joining in the Mini London Marathon.
|The TCS Mini London Marathon in schools is back, with a special challenge for 2023!|
|This year, every child who takes part in the TCS Mini London Marathon in schools will be involved in a real-life world record attempt! 🤯 We’ve teamed up with Guinness World Records™ to create this truly special challenge. It is completely free of charge to enter and takes place between Monday 17 April and Friday 12 May. We’re asking schools to sign up their pupils to run, jog, walk or wheel one mile as part of the TCS Mini London Marathon in schools and if we succeed, every school that takes part will receive a certificate from Guinness World Records to display. If you think you know a school that might be interested then forward this email or send them the link below.|
We have added some videos of Base 1 & 4 children running their mile for the Guinness World record attempt for Most Children to pledge to a Physical Activity
Our Coronation Street Party
Today the children came to school dressed in Red, White and Blue. Mr Bussey led an assembly and then at lunchtime the kitchen staff decorated the hall so the children could have a street party.
Later on children will be presented with a Coronation medal as a souvenir and also a cone of red, white and blue sweets very kindly donated and put together by the PTFA.
Forest School Activity Club
Every week we have a KS1 Forest School Club and a KS2 Forest School Club. The children (and the staff) really enjoy it and it is a highlight of the week.
We have attached a few photos of the activities for you to look at.
You can see where children made a castle with a moat . He filled it with water because he had been learning about moats in Reception that day and wanted to re-create it.
Mrs Stewart also got more of the boys creating their own mud slide.
