Base 2 – Polyrhythms

Base 2 have been learning about polyrhythms this afternoon. If, like me ,you’re not sure what a polyrhythm is, then this is the description I found when I turned to Google!

Polyrhythm, also called Cross-rhythm, the simultaneous combination of contrasting rhythms in a musical composition. Rhythmic conflicts, or cross-rhythms, may occur within a single metre (e.g., two eighth notes against triplet eighths) or may be reinforced by simultaneous combinations of conflicting metres.”

Luke Temple visit

This week children’s author Luke Temple visited our school to talk about the process of being an author and to read some of his stories.

Some of the children were keen to buy books and so he came back to see us again today for a book signing.
