Today we weaved using leaves in our school grounds! Over, under, over, under… 

10th Feb 2016: We got into teams of five or six and wrote down all the ingredients for our pizzas. After that, we looked at the Waitrose website and were finding out the prices of all of the toppings. Then, we added up all of the prices to get are total cost of our pizzas.

On Monday the 8th of February, we were making lego fossils.We had to make a dinosaur in partners and then we had to make it into a big block.Then we had to give our models to a different group to try and excuvate the dinosaur without breaking the dinosaur. It was very fun and interesting.After that, we tried to make a different scene of palientologists digging up a fossil. 

Year 5/6 maths group have been practising their converting and estimating skills with capacity !  

The NSPCC came in to talk to us about the important work that childline do. Look out for your sponsor pack which should come home this week! 

Today we performed a simple test. We made a house out of one material – paper, card, wooden bricks or plastic straws. We then tested which houses were strong enough to withstand wind and were waterproofed against rain! The straws and wooden bricks were clear winners! 

We have focused on our local area – linking in with Geography! We have completed a series of observational drawings and also had a look at the style of Pop Art! Enjoy! 

Today we used  role play to think of a solution to our own fairytale story!   
    
 

We have been looking at maps in Geography and made our own maps with grid references! We learnt today that sometimes compasses can be more useful to use than a map. We learnt the compass directions and used view finders to look at the human and physical features we can see in different directions in the school grounds!  
    
   

Year 2 have been making up a shadow dance. We have to work carefully with our partners to make sure we are doing exactly the same actions.
