Hello Year 2

Your challenge this week is to learn about food chains.
Watch the link below to find out all the information you need.
https://www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize/clips/z96r82p
Then make your own food chain like the one in the picture.
I look forward to seeing your finished chains on the blog soon.
Keep in touch and stay safe
Missing you all.
Mrs Hill xx

Demi has taken part in the Base 8 Challenge.
Well done Demi!
Good Afternoon Base 8,
We hope that you had a lovely Easter!
Your challenge this week is to learn to tell the time confidently using ‘o’clock’.
In the picture you will see that Mrs Gilbert eats her lunch at 1 o’clock. We know this because the ‘hour hand’ (the shortest one) is pointing to the number 1 and the ‘minute hand’ (the longest one) is pointing to the number 12. We know that when the minute hand (the longest one) is pointing to 12 we can say it is ___ o’clock
We would love to see what you do at 10 o’clock and 4 o’clock on the blog or you can complete the activity that we have set for you on Purple Mash.
Take care and stay safe.
Miss Melaniphy & Mrs Gilbert

Fae took on Mrs. Hill’s 3 ingredients challenge and made her speciality lunch – scrambled egg on toast.
Fae uses the microwave to make her scrambled egg. First cracking the eggs into a large bowl, and adding a splash of milk, whisking together and then again lightly after every couple of minutes until it is the right consistency and all the egg is cooked.
Well done Fae! Mr Bussey thinks that he is the expert at scrambled eggs but we think yours look nicer! xx
Hello Reception!
Mrs Branch has sent me another challenge for you this week – hope you enjoy it! Don’t forget to send me your photos and replies! Thank you love Miss Hedges x
MRS BRANCH’S CHALLENGE
Hello Everyone! We hope you had a lovely Easter holiday.
We are back to a phonics challenge this week! Today we are looking at the new sound ‘er’. We know ‘ur’ already, but this ‘er’ loves to be at the end of words for most of the time. Can you use the sound buttons to read the words that I have put up in my garden? One of them is an alien word – can you spot which one it is?
I have also been painting the ‘er’ sound on my patio using a brush and water to help me to remember how to write it. Perhaps you can too.

Good Morning Base 8
It is lovely to see all of the fun and interesting things that you are doing at home on the blog. Keep up the great work.
Mrs Gilbert and Miss Melaniphy thought you might like this challenge.
Mrs Gilbert has done this at home with Holly this morning, and she found Phoebe the cat for something soft, some yucky blue cheese for something smelly, although it tasted yummy, and Holly’s sister Eve for something loud as she is always playing her music way too loud!
What can you find?
Ask Mummy or Daddy to send in your answers and photographs to Miss Hedges!
Ellie has been learning how to sew and would like to share her project with you all.
Well done Ellie, that looks so good!

Elijah and Darcie have been working on a Covid-19 time capsule and they have enjoyed it so much they thought that they would share it with you , as it might be something other children might like to do.
They have written down how they are feeling, what they are looking forward to and even a little interview to complete with your parents.
Thank you to Elijah and Darcie for sharing this with us!

We would like to say a big well done to Cooper from everyone at Moorfield for winning a giant Easter Egg after his wonderful artwork outside his house.
We have attached some photos for you to look at and also a link to the story that appeared in the Shropshire Star.
When Cooper painted the display on a sheet, a print came through onto the drive, so they have left it there as a mirror image.
When Cooper received the giant egg, he melted it down with his Mummy and made smaller eggs and they gave these to their neighbours – what a lovely idea Cooper!
