Harry Bs birthday!

Harry’s birthday 26th.

He’s really missing his mates so says ‘Hi’ to everyone!

He’s had a day off from home schooling! Haz and his birthday bike! 🚴‍♂️🚴‍♂️

Happy Birthday Harry! At least there was no school today but don’t get too excited you won’t get a day off next year 🤣

Enjoy the rest of your day and Happy Birthday from everyone at Moorfield!

Cayden, Ava and Isaac’s day

Cayden, Ava and Isaac started their day with the Joe Wicks workout ( Mrs Harvey are you pleased ?) They have been working through their books and Mummy says she has also learnt a few things !

Then they played outside and learned about the rainforest. They each did a project about an animal .

The children also did some work on a website called the Maths Factor which was developed by Carol Vorderman and we all know how good she is at Maths !

Thank you for sharing your day with us and keep sending more things in !

Birthday Blog

While school is closed, we would really like children to be able to keep  in touch and let  the staff and other pupils of the school how they are.

Instead of Star of the Week, I will be adding birthdays of the week.  I will list everyone’s birthday that falls in the week and it would be lovely if you could start following us on the blog so that the children can comment on each other’s posts and wish each other a Happy Birthday etc.

If you send in photos to me, I will do my best to publish them as soon as I can.

Thanks everyone.

Love Miss Hedges xx

Our History Mural

We are excited to tell you that the whole school is working to create a History Mural in the hall.

The mural will include a timeline which includes images of:

  • The Victorians
  • The Stone Age
  • The Romans
  • The Mayans
  • Egypt
  • World War II

Yesterday was the first planning session and we have included some photographs to show you the beginnings of the project.

We will add more information as the work continues.

World Book Day 2020

One of our favourite days of the year!  Thank you to everyone who has made the effort to dress up – as usual the school is looking very colourful  – there are some great costumes around the place!

We had a special assembly so that children could look at each other’s costumes and the staff were tasked with the difficult decision of picking first, second and third in each base.

During the day, children will have some time working on different book based tasks in their bases:

  • Year 5 and 6 are all working on creating book based board games.
  • Base 3 are designing posters of their favourite book.
  • Base 5 are doing a World Book Day Quiz.
  • Base 6 are hosting their own Book Awards.
  • Base 7 are sharing their favourite stories with friends and making bookmarks.
  • Base 8 are having great fun ‘hot seating’, where they introduced their characters to the class. We got to meet and question Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz, the Queen of Hearts and one of Goldilocks 3 bears. We were surprised to learn that ‘Baby Bear’ actually liked Goldilocks very much and they have become good friends.
  • Base 9 are looking at Chicken Licken and finding a way to stop the egg from breaking when it drops from the sky!
