2024 France Trip – Year 6
Earlier on in the blog there were photographs of the last day of activities in France. It was a great trip for the Year 6 children, with visits to St Malo , Mont St Michel , Fougeres. The children visited a market and chose some interesting souvenirs I am told, as well as going to a coffee shop where they practiced their language skills and ordered in French. The group also visited the landing beaches at Arromanches for a moment of reflection before the journey back.
The weather was mostly fine apart from Wednesday which forecast 100% chance of rain all day – and we are told that there was definitely 100% of rain all day – but thankfully the chateau had an industrial size tumble drier which helped!

2024 Edgmond trip – Year 2
The Year 2 children recently visited Edgmond Hall for a couple of nights – their very first residential!They walked all the way from school to Edgmond over the fields and the canal and learned lots of things about the locality on their way.
While at Edgmond they fed animals, did nature trails, made countryside crafts and spent lots of time with nature.
In the evening, two of our Governors joined us for tea and a nice long night walk through the forests, including a special visit to the Wishing Tree.
The campfire had to be postponed the second night but the children still got to roast marshmallows the next morning. We also had a special celebration for Jaylen’s birthday including a cake and flying the flag before the long walk back to school the next day.
The children learned lots of new skills including making beds, organising themselves and left the trip with a new found independence – Well done Year 2!

Year One Visit to the Church
In RE the children have been learning about special places and what might be found in them and in spite of a walk in the rainy weather, the children really enjoyed their visit to the church.

Year 3/4 Art
Finishing abstract sculptures today inspired by the work of Anthony Caro and playground equipment. These last few pictures are not of the naughty boys club…. the boys were waiting for paint to dry so asked if they could read sat on the floor! 😊
