Reception, Year One and Year Two have visited the Sikh Gurdwara today.
We were welcomed in and shown where Sikhs pray, and we heard about what is important in a Sikh person’s life.
We had the opportunity to listen to a reading from the special Sikh book which we learnt is called the Guru Granth Sahib.
We learnt about the 5 K’s that are important to Sikh people. We were treated to a song by some of the Sikh community. We were also very lucky to be able to hear the start of a 48 hour reading from the Guru Granth Sahib. One of our children was shown how to wear a turban.
Just before we left , we were given drinks and snacks. The children really enjoyed the visit.
