Reception children have been outside this morning planting carrots and onions.
They have been working on predictions and after doing some planting have been asked to predict what plants need to grow and how long will it take for them to change.
There were some lovely answers.
“I know that it turns into a seedling when it starts to grow”
“We need to wait for summer and rain”
“They can grow flowers and food”
“They will need water to grow”
And my personal favourite
“It will take a long time!”
In the coming weeks, children will be planting potatoes outside too, with a view to entering them in the Newport Show schools competition – how exciting!
