Music Heroes Assembly
In school we have lots of children who are having music lessons with the Music Heroes.
We have children learning flute, clarinet, recorder, guitar, keyboard and ukelele.
We may also introduce the drums soon which will be great.
So today we had a music assembly led my the musicians and teachers from Music Heroes and some of the children had a go at playing the drums!

Great Fire of London
Today the KS1 children took part in a Great Fire of London workshop.
The children were immersed into life in London in 17th century by taking on the role of various shopkeepers.
They made soap and scented handkerchiefs and worked with leather.
Throughout the day, the children learned how the Great Fire of London started and how it spread through the city.

Year 2 Edgmond Residential Trip
Last week we recommenced our programme of residential trips and the Year 2 children all went to Edgmond Hall, staying over for two nights.
The adventure started with the children walking from school , along the High Street then along the canal to Edgmond – they were very excited to be walking so far but they all made it!
Once at Edgmond the children did lots of activites during the day, and looked after the animals as well as exploring the grounds of Edgmond Hall and learning all about it.
In the evenings , the children did a night walk on the first night, using torches and also making wishes on the wishing tree.
On the second night, they took part in a campfire , singing songs and toasting marshmallows.
We were very proud of the children and how independent they were. They all carried their own luggage upstairs, arranged their own clothes in their cupboard and made their own beds. At the end of their stay they also stripped off their bedding and packed all their clothes for the return journey. Well done Year 2!

Year 5 Orienteering at Longford Hall
On 20th October, the year 5 children walked to Longford Hall to take part in an orienteering competition organised by Haberdasher Adams.
As you can see from the photographs, they had a thoroughly enjoyable time.
Roman Guthrie and Adam Powell Laybourn were the winners – completing both courses in the fastest time.
Well done everyone!
