Year 3 and 4 topic this term is The Stone Age.

On Monday we had a Stone Age Day and children had a visit from a caveman, a cavewoman and some of their wares!

It was a great way to bring the topic alive.

Base 3 have spent the last 4 weeks following the Euro 2020 Competition,  from the group stages through to the final, recording all the results along the way.  

It all came down to England v Italy at Wembley, Sunday 11^th July.

These are some pictures of symmetrical patterns that Base 3 have done to support their work on symmetry.

The children in base 6 have been writing formal letters to their parents to request that they encourage their children to drink more water.  Here are the results…

Base 3 have been working hard to produce flags of all 24 countries participating in the Euro 2020 championship.

To help keep their interest during the competition they are completing a wall chart each day with the results of all the games.

As part of the fun, each child (including Mr. Smart and Mrs Holloway) has pulled a flag out of a hat and is following that country through the competition to see how far they can get.

Who will be our Base 3 Euro 2020 winner?

When Base 5 went to Deer Park in the Autumn Term , they had a great time and Miss Oliver took this lovely photo of the class, which welcomes everyone as they walk into the classroom. It is too lovely not to share!

Have a look what happened when Base 6 took part in the Spring Explorers Day at Deer Park.

There was pond dipping and mini beast hunting! The children had a lovely afternoon learning outside.

Base 6 were classifying vertebrates in Science this week.

A couple of weeks ago , Base 3 went to the Spring Explorer’s workshop at Deer Park.

We have included some photographs and also some of the work that the children did when they got back from the trip.

Base 5 painting went outside this morning to paint ‘en plein air’ in the style of Claude Monet.

Claude Monet is the French ‘Impressionist’ artist that they are currently studying.

They are really glad that they did this in the morning sunshine and beat the rain!
