During lockdown Mair and her Nan made a bag and Mair has sent in some photographs to show us.
Well done Mair – this is really lovely.
Mair had to design and draw templates and make notes on it.

Jessica in Year 4 had a keyboard for Christmas and she has been teaching herself to read music and to play.
She would like to share with you a video of her playing her first tune.
Thank you Jess for sending this in – you have done really well!
Here’s a few pictures from last week’s Fitness session. Miss Oliver ran her first Moorfield Mile with Base 5! The children did an excellent job as usual and are all well on their way to completing the Moorfield Marathon. Mrs Harvey is really pleased to see the children’s fitness levels improving week after week.
Ho Ho Ho, Merry Fitness!
From Mrs Harvey and Base 5

Some of the pictures show the children in Base 5 exploring different books based on our current topic: How much did the Ancient Egyptians achieve?
The children loved looking through our selection of topic books and finding new information about the Ancient Egyptians. They especially enjoyed the fold-out book that had a huge map of the river Nile!
Other pictures show some children’s art work. Children were using wire to create familiar Egyptian symbols such as a scarab beetle and The Eye of Horus. The children had to using joining, bending and shaping techniques to form the outline of the symbols.
Thank you Base 5 – it is really interesting to keep up with how much you are learning about the Ancient Egyptians and their way of life.

Music Heroes are in school this week doing their regular lessons.
Lots of children are now learning guitar and piano and also Jenny Burgess is in school teaching woodwind instruments.
Hriday has started to learn piano and has shared his lesson with us today.
Year 3 and 4 are learning about the Egyptians. We were lucky enough to borrow some artefacts from the library and the children in Base 5 enjoyed working with them in their lessons last week.
Children were exploring the Egyptian artefacts linked to their current topic: Ancient Egypt.
The children were thinking about the following questions “What was it used for?”, “What skills were needed to make it?” and “What does this tell us about life in Ancient Egypt?”
Ask your children at home to talk to you about some of the things that they saw.
