Year One are working on number bonds to 10.
Yesterday the children worked in groups outside on the playground. They each had a number and had to stand next to someone to make their number bond. This was a fun activity and really helped the children understand the number bonds.
Following on from that, today they are working in class to solve word problems using their knowledge of number bonds to 10.
The aims of the lesson are:
- To know that they must read the word problem first to work out what it is asking them to do.
- To understand what calculation must be done to solve the problem correctly.
- To correctly apply their knowledge of numbers bond to 10 to solve the problems.
It would be great if you could work on number bonds to 10 with the children at home to help them with their learning!
