Thomas from our Reception class was proudly showing off his medal today after taking part in a fun run in Chester at the weekend . He ran a mile without stopping!

Earlier this week, the Reception children had a lovely walk into Newport and spent some time in the library.

They listened to a story , then spent time looking through the books and picking their favourites to share with the staff.

Children in Reception have today done a yellow and green nature hunt and stopped by the office to show us their work.

This week children’s author Luke Temple visited our school to talk about the process of being an author and to read some of his stories.

Some of the children were keen to buy books and so he came back to see us again today for a book signing.

Last week in Base 7 , the children were planting sunflower seeds. They were also looking at seeds and Mrs Hill showed the class the inside of a seed.

Today Reception have been lucky enough to have some of our key stage 2 children visit to read them a story. Reception had a lovely time and were really inspired to develop their own reading aloud skills. Thank you children and we hope you can come and visit us again soon.

As part of their topic on ‘People Who Help Us’ children in Reception made a waterproof outfit for a firefighter on Friday. During the week they had tested lots of different materials by dropping water onto them and observing what happened.

On Friday the children brought in a cuddly toy or doll and dressed it up in a waterproof outfit.
